In order to support efficient exploration and cost-effective development and to contribute strong engineering capabilities to the high-quality development of the oil and gas engineering sector.
With the continuous development of China's petroleum industry, deep and ultra-deep oil and gas, deepwater oil and gas, shale oil and gas, tight oil and gas, coalbed methane, low-permeability reservoirs, and natural gas hydrates have become the main areas for exploration and development. There is an urgent need for greater innovation in engineering technologies and for the development of advanced and applicable new technologies, equipment, and processes, in order to support efficient exploration and cost-effective development and to contribute strong engineering capabilities to the high-quality development of the oil and gas engineering sector. To pool industry wisdom, promote breakthroughs in innovation, and jointly explore future directions for oil and gas engineering technologies, the Chinese Petroleum Society, together with several organizations, will hold the "2026 China Oil and Gas Engineering Technology Exchange Conference and Exhibition of New Technologies and Achievements" in Chengdu from 15 to 17 April. The conference will invite academicians from the Chinese Academy of Engineering and the Chinese Academy of Sciences; senior executives and experts from CNPC, Sinopec, CNOOC, and Yanchang Petroleum; leaders and specialists from companies such as ExxonMobil, Shell, Chevron, Saudi Aramco, BP, TotalEnergies, SLB, Baker Hughes, and Halliburton; as well as distinguished professors from universities and research institutes at home and abroad.
In-depth discussions will focus on innovation in geophysical exploration, drilling and completion, fracturing, and well logging/mud logging technologies. Particular attention will be given to new technologies for geophysical exploration and evaluation of unconventional oil and gas; new technologies for drilling, completion, geophysical exploration, and well logging/mud logging in ultra-deep and deepwater reservoirs; new engineering technologies for trial production of deepwater natural gas hydrates; new technologies for drilling, completion, and reservoir stimulation in tight oil and gas, shale oil and gas, and coalbed methane; as well as digital and intelligent engineering technologies. The conference will also provide a platform for sharing R&D achievements relating to domestically developed equipment, processes, and materials.
